Why the website visit goal matters
Earlier, YouTube was just a platform where creators can upload their videos and generate revenue through ads. But with this new feature creators will have the option to promote their own website or a specific landing page through their videos. This will allow creators to monetise their channel through one more way.
How will it impact the creators and brands
This new feature is a game changer for everyone from small business owner, to a big brand, or a digital marketer, the “website visits” goal will make it easier to promote your products and services.
As it will allow creators to directly send interested viewers straight to their online stores, landing pages, or blog posts.
How to set up a website visit goal promotion
Creators can access the feature through their YouTube Studio promotions section. Once you are in the promotions section you can follow the steps below to create a new promotion.
- You will have three goals to choose from
- Audience Growth: Focuses on increasing your subscriber count and growing your channel’s audience.
- Video Views: Helps maximise the number of views for a specific video.
- Website Visits: Directs viewers to your website or landing page.
- You can select any one of the goals to get started
- Once done you will be provided with different ad formats. Such as:
- Shorts: Ads that appear in YouTube Shorts, ideal for engaging mobile audiences.
- In-Feed Ads: These ads appear within the YouTube feed, blending seamlessly with organic content.
- Skippable In-Stream Ads: Ads that play before or during videos, giving viewers the option to skip after five seconds.
- Once you select the ad format you will be provided with other details which you can fill as per your requirement.
- Once everything is done you have to just click on the Publish button and your promotion will start.
Also note engagement through this won’t have any effect towards your YouTube Partner Program (YPP), meaning creators won’t be able to monetize this traffic via YPP.
Why should you use it
Using this feature allows a content creator, a business owner, or a digital marketer to get more qualified leads for their product and services. As you will be targeting the highly engaged viewers who have already interacted with your video content. This type of audience is more likely to take an action on your site, such as making a purchase or signing up for a newsletter.
